GBSFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 6 Jun 2000 15:25:15 -0500 (CDT)
My daughter was born with GBS four years ago. My husband and I were wondering if we had another child, would there be an increased risk of GBS infection? I was not at the time treated with antibiotics. My daughter had to stay in the NICU for 11 days because of having gentamycin infusion due to sepsis! We are concerned as to whether or not I would still carry GBS. My daughter also had a birth defect called Pierre Robin Syndrome. This was another reason she stayed in the NICU for so long trying to manage her breathing and feeding difficulties. Thanks for your help.
