question for Dr. von Almen

I have posted to you twice over the past couple months.

The first post was regarding a routine urine which was cloudy and had WBC's in it. I had been treated with Macrobid for a urinary infection for 1 week. Shortly after, I was on 2 weeks of Amoxicillin for a sinus infection. I had this routine urine done about 3 days after coming off the antibiotic. You suggested that I tell my Gyn about this.

My second post was about my surgeries over the past 4 years- the basket surgery for a kidney stone, the fibroid surgery that turned into a hysterectomy and the bladder suspension with bleeding from the port site into my back - how they had to open me and put a drain in. I spoke about the continued pain- lower left side up to the waist area and around into the back.

Well, I told my Gyn about the routine urine report. He ordered a routine and a culture. The urine culture came back neg. They forgot to do the routine. He examined me and I had some vaginal discharge. This turned out to be Strep B. He gave me Ampicillin for a week-500mg. I am back on it because I have drainage.

What kind of problems can this Strep B cause? Could this be giving me this chronic back and side pain? He is going to reculture me in a week. I am very concerned about this.

I forgot to tell you, I also had leep to the cervix in Feb. for severe cervicitis and several Nabothian cysts. Was having some bleeding.

Thanks again- I would like to get straightened out. Anne
