HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE FOR 27 WEEKS--CHRONIC

I started to take Methyldopa( substituted for Aldomet) last night. Today, at my ob, my blood pressure came down to 116/72. Her RN said that it was very good and I need keep taking this medicine. I asked how long should I took it, she told me that properly I need to take it for the rest of my pregnancy.

I am very concerned with this long-term medication. Do I really need to take it for the next three months? What's is the said effect of this medicine to the little life?? If I can suffer a little bit, but, my baby will be fine, I would rather do it!! I know I am silly. But, I am really scared by this??

What's your opinion about this?? Can I reduce the dose to one pill per day ( I should take twice a day)? Some one has this experience??

Thanks in advance!!!
