liver cyst and pouch of Douglas simple cystsFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 28 May 2000 04:20:50 -0500 (CDT)
The following is part of the report and comment of my recent ultrasonogram of whole abdomen and pelvis. I feel very painful during 'period'. My question is whether I should have a surgery to remove it or leave it as is. A professional opinion on this would be very much appreciated. Part of Report: A 6 mm diameter simple cyst is noted over left lobe of liver. The size and echogenic pattern of the liver are normal. No focal solid lesion is seen. The portal vein and IVC are patent. The common duct is normal. No dilated intrahepatic duct is noted. The uterus is normal in size and outline. No focal lession is noted. A 35 X 29 X 53 mm simple cystic mass is noted over right pouch of Douglas. Another 24 x 24 x 29 mm simple cystic mass is noted over left pouch of Doulgas. Radiologist's comment: Simple liver cyst. Pouch of Douglas simple cysts. Findings are likely due to recurrent chocolate cysts.
