The company has declared this to be a Pregnancy Category X drug. THat means that it has been shown to cause birth defects. RELAX READ ON. There has been shown to be a slight incidence (less than 1%) of masculinization of female fetuses who are exposed to the drug in utero. This can range from minimal enlargement of the clitoris all the way to fusion of the labial folds and marked clitoral enlargement. It is for this reason that Crinone is usually used during pregnancy. Provera does not induce ovulation.
