This is my first child >and I am 31 in this year. > Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (PIH) is defined as a BP of greater than 140/90 on two occasions separated by 6 hours secondary only to the influence of the pregnancy. If you meet that criteria, you have PIH. THis can cause many problems with the pregnancy and with you. It frequently requires hospitalization and if it becomes severe(greater than 160/110 on 2 occasions separated by 6 hours) delivery might be indicated. Discuss your problem with your Obstetrican. RDB
