Reply to Dr. Braun re: Amas TestFrom: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 22 May 2000 11:20:09 -0500 (CDT)
>From what I read, the test was developed by Dr. Samuel Bogoch to detect any type of malignancy anywhere in the body. Amas refers to antimalignan antibody in serum. It supposedly was tested extensively by the FDA and approved. Dr. Bogoch stated that cancer cells release a substance called malignan, which the immune system recognizes and responds to with antibodies in attempt to destroy it. The antibodies, called antimalignans can be detected by the test. I find it rather unsettling to think there is literature published about such a test and yet doctors aren't aware of the test. Is this completely bogus information or legitimate information? How can I find out? Thank you in advance for your time!
