If it ain't broke, why fix it? > >--Helen Helen I have not read the whole thread, but I presume you are talking about early delivery. Every MD feels differently about ROM. I will usually leave them intact as long as possible in order to cushion the fetus, but there are times where you feel the baby needs out and ROM is felt to hasten that. Pitocin is more of the same, once the decision is made to deliver, we feel the baby is better off in the hands of the NICU, so pitocin can augment the contractions. Hope this helps.
