My period has always been pretty regular, lasting 4 or 5 days. I started having problems a couple of months ago when my period lasted 9 days...6 days of "fresh" blood followed by 3 days of bloody mucus. Last month it was normal length, but it was really heavy. I went through a tampon every 2 hours for the first two days when I can usually hold off for 5 or 6 hours. This month, my period hasn't come at all (I'm 5 days late) and I've had all the other menstrual symptoms I usually get (cramps and sensitive nipples). I took a pregnancy test and it was negative...What could be the problem? I am really concerned. Thank you for any help out there.
