Your MD will want to do a pap smear, and will likely want to schedule you to go to the OR and probably do a D & C and an Hysteroscopy. That will allow him to remove the fibroid and assess the uterine lining. He may also want to go straight to an Hysterectomy. This is fine also provided your pap smear does not make him suspicious of cancer. Good Luck
