Had an thermachoice ablation..a few questions...

Hi, I just had this done a few months ago, I am 33 and had menorrhagia of an unknown cause. The only thing left I could have would be adenomyosis but the cure, a hysterectomy, is usually the diagnoses so we don't know for sure. I never had much pain, just EXTREMELY heavy periods that lasted 14 days a cycle for a few years...came out of the blue..I was always a light bleeder!

My concern is how long will this last? I would hope this is a cure, not a bandaid fix. I feel at my age now I would be better off having a hysterectomy instead of in 10 years say..the younger we are the better we tolerate surgery.

I had just one cycle since the ablation...it was long still...11 days...but very very light. Three days after it stopped I starting pms already...way too early. I have had pms now for 15 days..I get severe breast tenderness and I just can't take this anymore. I knew the ablation would not change my pms since the ovaries were not touched, but it is worse now and longer. Maybe a hormonal imbalance? My fear is it has failed me and I will know in just a few days when cycle 2 is due. Is this early pms any indicator that the ablation failed?

Anyone out there have a successful ablation that has lasted many years? It is hard to find woman that did as my doctor pointed out I won't read many success stories on the net as the ladies it works for probably are not spending time on woman's health web sites since they are not bleeding heavy any longer..makes sense..

Thanks:)
