A D & C is usually done as an outpatient or even an office procedure. After the procedure, ther may be minimal to no bleeding, there should not be any pain to amount to anything. In fact many years ago one of the attending physiicans used merthiolate to prep his D & C patients prior to surgery. When I asked him Why? he said so that they will know that something happened.
