Kidney Problems or Period Problems?From: Tracy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 28 Apr 2000 13:25:59 -0500 (CDT)
I posted a question earlier this month concerning an ultrasound report I had received. I went to the emergency room on March 30 because I had a fever of 103, I was vomiting anything I tried to drink or eat and I was very lightheaded. I thought it was a kidney infection because my back (both right and left, but more so the right) had been hurting and I had had troubl urinating. I was admitted for three days and diagnosed with a kidney infection and dehdration. While there they did an ultrasound and found "adnormal amounts of fluid or blood in the pelvic cul-de-sac and several small cysts in each ovary". Two weeks later I did my follow up they say I am okay and my gyno says he does not need to see me the fluid in the cul-de-sac is normal. March 30 (the day I was admitted) was the last day of my period. I started two days ago and now I have a repeat of the above symptoms. I am running a fever/chills. I have back pain on both sides, more so the right and I am nauseated (not yet vomitting). Is this just a repeat of a kidney infection or could it be connected with my period.
