Tina, Kristy's advise is right on target. I have had a number of patients that have complained about "excess skin" --- at times is can be irritated with undergarments and tight clothing. Other patients complain it sometimes can be problematic with intercourse ---the skin is pulled into the vagina with thrusting and can be uncomfortable. I have had other patients -- A-Mother and daughter with the same condition and they wanted a reduction in the skin more for cosmetic reasons. Though these patients were happy with their decisions to proceed with a reduction of the labia majora. A decison such as this should not be taken lightly and requires a great amount of thought. In this situation the question becomes what or how much labia is normal. If you are not having any problems I would not do anything about.it.
