Cheryl,

I may be wrong here but it sounds like you doc may have performed a sacrospinous ligament suspension (SSL). If that is the case there are two ways to treat the pain, one is to remove the suture and the other is to inject the area with the likes of lidocaine.

One of the problems with all surgeries is that each surgeon may perform an operation a little differently, that does not mean that one way is correct and the other is not. It just means that ones technique is different and this makes it hard to infer exactly what was done at the time of the operation. You stated you had a cystocele, rectocele, and enterocele repair. These are the problems that you had the surgery to repair each of these problems were done in a specific way......cystocele repair ---was this a paravaginal repair, anterior repair? enterocele repairs are usually coupled with a vaginal vault suspension procedure---SSL, McCall culdeplasty, iliococcygeal suspension.....etc...

Your best bet is to obtain your op report or ask your doc what technique he chose especially for the enterocele repair. That little bit of information would be helpful.

Hope this helps
