perimenopause/symptoms after menstruatingFrom: Cathy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 26 Apr 2000 11:06:43 -0500 (CDT)
Over a year ago (I'm nearly 41), I went to my doctor about symptoms I was having immediately after my period. Depression, anxiety, in a fog, memory loss. My periods had changed to very heavy for 3-4 days, then stopped for a couple of days, then spot for several more. My hair has also changed very much to limp and greasy. I have also developed some (YUK)facial hair. Having told him all this he said it must be emotional since it happened after my period. Medically, only PMS symptoms were linked to hormones. I've tried antidepressants and they made me crazy. After one year my symptoms remain the same or worse. Why am I fine PMS and terrible postmenstruating. Can this be hormonal. Please help. I'm getting worse each cycle. It is hard to live a normal life for two weeks out of each month and my family is suffering (and Me!).
