period after childbirthFrom: Kari (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Apr 2000 16:59:50 -0500 (CDT)
A little background to fill you in....I bled continuously for 9 wks postpartum, at 5 wks I stopped breastfeeding, at 7 wks I started BC (desogen),at 9 wks my bleeding was heavier than it had been the previous wks. It was not terribly heavy, just like a regular period. Even though I had been bleeding continuously up until 9 wks, I attributed the heavier bleeding to my period coming back since I had stopped bf at 5 wks. At wk 10 when I should have gotten my period, according to the bc, I had only light spotting a couple of days and then stopped. Now I am at wk 13 postpartum, I should get my period next week but this wk I have had spotting both monday and tuesday. I assume it is my period trying to come. I figured that it would probably be wise to start my next pack of bc this sunday instead of waiting another wk to go through my placebo pills. In doing so, my period should come a wk early like it seems to want to anyway. Am I on track here to just go with my body instead of trying to fight it.
