Usually severe allergic reactions are treated with steroids, especially if they are systemic. Since you have these questions, it would be best for you to call your physician's office tomorrow morning and ask to have him call you back tomorrow, so that you can ask these questions of him. Not knowing all of the details, really makes it dificult to give you a better answer. RDB
