Personally, I have never heard of any such case in my area ever happening. I've heard of babies dying because of what the mother's did before they had them, ie drinking, drugs, or because of diseases transmitted to the unborn through the mother's body, but I have not heard of any cases around here of babies catching infections in a hospital, which probably means they are not common. I do agree that breastfeeding, if possible, does pass on immunity to a lot of illnesses however.
