Hi. I am a pediatric occupational therapist. I checked the feeding "Bible" ( Pre-Feeding Skills by Suzanne Evans Morris and Marsha Dunn Klein) and there is a brief section addressing your questions (and a chapter on all the feeding issues with cleft lip or palate. If your school has an OT or Speech Pathology program, this book will almost certainly be in the library. If not, re-post or email me and I will copy the information for you. You might also find Suzanne's/New Visions web site helpful. It is http://www.new-vis.com.

Good luck with your research!
