What's The Best Surgery?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 12 Apr 2000 23:14:51 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 43 year-old woman. I had 3 surgeries to remove cysts and fibroids within a year and half timespan in from 1989. The last surgery I had included a partial hysterectomy (removal of right fallopian tube and ovary) because of adhesions. The fibroids have returned and I now have several fibroids, including one inside my uterus the size of a cantelope (I recently had an ultrasound). I scar terribly and develop keloids when I'm cut. My symptoms this time are becoming unbearable. I can't sleep at night because of severe lower back pain (the fibroid is hitting my spine). Sometimes I have shooting sharp pain from my abdomen. Sometimes I bleed brownish blood days on end or sometimes just gushing. My period is irregular (sometimes it comes sometimes it doesn't) and when it does come the pain is escruciating. Could you tell me what possble surgery options I should look at? Thanks for your time. anonymous
