DaughterFrom: A (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 12 Apr 2000 19:53:46 -0500 (CDT)
Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I am the mother of a 16 year old daughter who has recently started having sex with her boyfriend. She feels comfortable enough with me to ask me certain questions pertaining to birth control and sex, and although I can answer some of her questions, I am no OB/GYN. She is scheduled to go to a gynecologist later this month, but there are certain questions she has that I feel should be addressed now. And they are: 1. Is is normal to bleed slightly every day for four days after the hymen is broken? She says that they have had sex every day since her hymen was broken. 2. How risky is it for her to take Ortho Tri-Cyclen if she smokes 10 - 15 cigarettes per day? She began taking Ortho Tri_Cyclen on the Sunday after her period ended, and on her second day, she said she woke up sweating , then chilled. She also felt "out of it" on the third day, and said she felt like she had a tension headache and felt slightly dizzy. Could all of these symptoms be related to the pill? Should she stop taking it? Thank you so much for any advice.
