Breast lumpFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 12 Apr 2000 07:06:29 -0500 (CDT)
I have had a lump on the chest wall for six months which can't be felt or seen on ultrasound. It appears to have got a little smaller on the last mammography. My question is - do I need to have a biopsy done ? The surgeon [ general as no breast surgeons where I live] says no as it has got smaller. He also said that a mammography guided biopsy is the only way to do it and that would be complicated. I am wondering if the fact that it has got a little smaller is enough justification to assume that it is benign ? I feel uncomfortable leaving a breast lump, as he recommends, and waiting to see what it does in another six months. I would appreciate your views. Thankyou.
