Endometriosis in tissue?

I just had a phone consult with a chronic pelvic pain specialist. He feels that my problem is endometriosis that has been sewn into the tissue during the repair from my vaginal hysterectomy. He said that this is a common problem especially after a vaginal hysterectomy. Also, he said that I would've benefited from a laparotomy (which I signed for on my last laparoscopy for CPP). He didn't understand why they didn't do it while I was under anyway and I was willing to let the gyne and general surgeon do it. But, as he said, they may have had their reasons. Anyway, he is suggesting concious pain mapping and possibly the laparotomy, but it would involve more time off work and extensive traveling as I live several states away from his institute. However, it has been 7 years and multiple laps for adhesions and oopherectomy (both ovaries). Since the last 2 scopes I had for the ongoing pain have been negative and no biopsies were taken to rule out microscopic endometriosis, he feels that I indeed qualify for a laparotomy as there may be deep pelvic adhesions that are not being seen with the scope. I am confused as to what to do....any opinions?? (Sorry this was so long)
