Adenomyosis is when the endometrium grows between the muscle fibers within the uterus. It is sometimes called internal endometriosis. It is extremely dificult to diagnose without doing a hysterectomy to make the diagnosis. Although there have been a few recent studies saying that MRI can be helpful in making the diagnosis. RDB
