Adenomyosis is a pathologic/microscopic diagnosis made on the surgical specimen following hysterectomy. It consists of finding glandular tissue like that which lines the uterine cavity, invading into the muscle layers of the uterus. Adenomyosis is normally found in patients that have had children in the past. Now, it may be that your symptoms are caused by adenomyosis, but this can't be said for sure without the uterus. Your interstitial cystitis has nothing to do with it.
