I may be flamed by members of this list, but I feel VERY strongly on this issue --- NO, NO, NO. A homebirth is not safe and should not be done with women who have had a prior cesarean. While the risk of uterine rupture in attempting labor after a c-section is in hte order of 1 - 2 %, if it occurs, IMMEDIATE evaluation and repeat cesarean is necessary to save the life of both mother and baby. this means delivery in a hospital, and not just any old haoptial, but one in which an immediate cesarean can be done if necessary.

Most likely (about 70%, depending on hte reason for the origianl c-section) you will deliver vaginally jsut fine, wiht no complications, but is it worth taking hte risk of losing your baby -- or your own life -- in order to deliver at home? Home births should only be considered by the lowest of the low risk, and you are not in that category.
