ovarian cyst and calcificationFrom: Linn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 Mar 2000 20:47:28 -0600 (CST)
I received my u/s results from my gyn. "multiple small cysts evident in right ovary. Lef ovary shows many cysts. Thick walled septated cyst involving left ovary. Stable in size and configuration. There is calcification along the posterior wall and septum of this largest cyst. The calcification extends into the septum between the cyst. It is slightly thickened." My doctor discussed a "honeycomb" configuration (septated???). From what I've read, this type of configuration could be suspicious. She said that she wouldn't know anything until she got in there. Scheduled for surgery on 4/25. She also had me get a CA-125 blood test today...results on Monday. I am 43 years old, and appreciate all the information you've given me to date on this. As I wrote earlier, first u/s showed area of echogenicty (done in January). MRI in Feb. did not identify this. Is this an appropriate amount of time to wait for surgery? Should I consult a gyn. oncologist or am I jumping the gun?
