Hi I just wanted to let you know that I too have a naval ring and I kept my ring in through two pregnancies. Never had a problem with stretching or tearing. My doc said he would take it out if it ever looked infected, but it never was. I know I'm not one of the docs, but just wanted to let you know it is possible to keep it in through out the pregnancy without any nadverse effects. Also just a little bit of info. The naval piercing will never close over. If you take the ring out you will still forever have a hole in your naval. It's almost exactly like ear piercing. The nose and tongue close up almost immediatly after removal of the piercing, but not the naval. Hope this helps.
