unilateral left pelvic pain radiating to anterior aspect of tight, prolonged mensen and thin walled ovarian cyst in left overyFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 27 Mar 2000 12:59:48 -0600 (CST)
Sir, I am a 2nd year medical student in a foreign medical school, with no access to high qualified OBGYN, and I'd like to have your advice on the following situation. For more then 4 years now I have intermittend left pelvic pain, which radiates to the anterior aspect of the left tigh. The initial blood work, ultrasound and X-ray's came back negative of any indication to what the cause might be for this pain. My menses have been getting longer and longer, and last now an average of 12 days. Also irregular inbetween spotting is observed some months, not every month. A few days ago I had some limited blood work done and ultrasound with the following results. HCG: 32.17 Chol.: 160 Trigl.: 107 HGB: 11.2 with an hematocrit of 33.6 ultrasound: Uterus: OK Endometrium: OK Right ovary: OK Left ovary: thin walled cyst of 9.7 mm diameter Physical exam: Hypersensitive uterus Would it be possible, concidering this limited data, to advise me on the posible origin of the pain, and/or which other test I should have to rule in/out certain issues. I thank you in advance for any input concerning this situation. Daisy le Dupont e-mail address: FARAH_L_D@HOTMAIL.COM
