About to ask ob for assistance with weight loss-what can I expect?

Hello again!!

I now have some more questions. I've looked everywhere in the archives to see if I can get an answer to the questions that I'm about to ask, and couldn't find a thing.

I've working with my ob to get the water retention due to PCOS down. I've been on a water pill for almost 10 days straight to bring as much of this water retention down. The assistant at my ob's office told me that if this didn't bring the water retention down some more that we would have to look at a dietary plan.

Well, the PCOS and the water retention from it has made it very difficult for me to lose weight so I've decided that I'm going to go ahead and see what my ob can do to help me lose the weight that is occurring at this time.

My questions are: What can I expect to happen during the course of this visit? What kind of questions do you all ask your gyn patients that come to you and ask for assistance with weight loss?

I'm going to try to make an appt for the 10th to discuss weight management.

Thanks so much for your time.

Kristy :)

P.S. Dr. Marchbein, I enjoy some of the things that you say to the other ladies when they are saying thank you to the other drs who have responded to their questions.

My favorite was to the one that said that she didn't want to call the dr since he wasn't on call that night. Thanks to you and all the others for being on call for us. :)

It's the little things that count: candy, flowers, finding an ob/gyn who will listen, and finding a cure for endometriosis, vulvodynia, and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
