I am very scared and worried about internal anal sphincter damage after birth which is very embarrassing!!! I am occasionally incontinent and I fear it getting worse. who does the surgery to correct and who is better suited for it it-- colorectal surgeon or obgen? next quesion, how repairable is this? will this be with me the rest of my life? one more question, I know that infection is a big risk in this operation--If I should get my period shortly after having the operation does that increase infection risk? I ask b/c I cannot wwear tampons as I also have prolasped uterus. My baby is 3 months now so I plan to get this corrected over the next couple months. HELP! This is quite an embarrassing trauma from birth!
