?Nerve damage to Bartholin's??From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 24 Mar 2000 07:08:04 -0600 (CST)
My question is this, when radical pelvic surgery is done is it possible to damage the nerves that would control the Bartholin's glands to produce lubrication?? If there is absolutely no lubrication produced since having surgery, and several types of HRT have been tried, vaginal creams also that did nothing to help and come to find out there is an ovarian remnant that is producing it's own natural estrogen & there is still no lubrication, wouldn't one tend to believe that the surgery was the cause of this?? How do the Bartholin's normally function? What is the signal that tells them to release fluids? If an orgasm is basically the result of neural stimulation and in the past when I had an orgasm, quite a bit more fluid was released,I would think that there is some sort of interference in this process now.... Help me please!! I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating this is for my husband and me....Things used to work just fine.....
