birth control pills and abnormal bleeding

i have written in twice - but i think i am paranoid now. here is my story. I was using Alesse, experienced breakthrough bleeding and mistook it for my period. so i switched to ortho-tri-cylen - i skipped the placebo pills on the alesse and went to the orth. the spotting/breakthrough bleeding still went on through the first 5 days of the ortho. so i thought i might have been pregnant, 'cause maybe it was implantational bleeding. because i spotted when i was supposed to have my period - but knew that my period wouldn't start because i started a new pack of pills. the breakthrough bleeding occured in my 3rd week of the alesse, because i took the pills at different times, so this would have been around the 14th day of the pills - so i could have ovulated. did i ovulate? i have not had sex, but had fooled around, so maybe if i ovulated because i took the pills at a different time each day, maybe i could be pregnant - even though i didn't have sex, but fooled around. so this week - i took a pregnancy test - 6 days after i would have had my period, but didn't cause i started a new pack. both tests were negative. but now today - on the 12th day of the new pack - i feel like i am going to start my period. kinda heavy and bloated down there. is this just a side effect of switching pills? could i be pregnant even though i took two test 6-8 days after i would have started my period? am i just paranoid? i'm sorry to write in again, i know that it is probably unlikely that i am pregnant - because i take the pill, although at different times which could have caused ovulation, i haven't had sex, and two preg. tests came up negative. i'm sorry once again, but i am just freaked out. that you all so much for your patience. i really appreciate it. thank you in advance -amber
