There are many reasons to perform an endometrial biopsy, most commonly, it is NOT to diagnose cancer, but to evaluate causes for irregular and/or heavy bleeding. A diagnosis can help in deciding on treatment options. It's pretty common for one ovry to be "hiding" somehwere. This isn't considered worrisome.
