Sugar and yeastFrom: Annie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 18 Mar 2000 08:31:47 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I have a history of recurrent yeast infections. I have found that when I totally eliminate sugar from my diet I don't have yeast infections. However, this is unhealthy because it means I don't eat any sugar, including fruit, and get very constipated and lethargic. About 2 weeks ago (after not eating sugar for 6 mths and having no yeast infections) I tried incorporating a small amount of sugar into my diet. By small I mean a little fruit each day and bowl of Corn Pops for breakfast. I now have a horrible yeast infection (confirmed with a fungal culture). Am I allergic to sugar or is something else going on? I'm very upset about this...I just want to eat like a "normal" person. Thank you.
