I'm a 27 year old female that is very worried after reading an article about PCOS. Let me tell you about myself. I have had irregular periods or no periods for about 5 years. I have had a miscarriage and it took my over a year to get pregnant after that. I am over weight. It is extremely difficult to loose weight. My hair has been thinning for 4 years. I suffer from acne. My sister is diabetic. I have high Triglycerides and cholesterol levels. I have dark patches under my arms pits, neck and inner thighs. I have had srugery for ovarian cysts and surgery for endometreosis. Everytime I go to my OBGYN he tells me loose weight and let's change your birthcontrol pills maybe these will regulate your periods. But has NEVER paid any attention to any of my other complaints or symtoms nor has he ever mentioned PCOS or told me lets run some tests. I don't have an appointment with the only specialist around my area (Miami) Dr. Goodman for another month and I'm scared out of my mind. I've gone ahead and made an appt w/ my OBGYN for this Wednesday 3/1/00. Is there anything I should ask him. I don't want to offend him, but I really think he has over looked this. I think I'm a classic case. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank You inadvance for your time and help.
