Smoking ceasation, weight gain, exercise, diet and abdominal pain. From: Richard (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 27 Feb 2000 04:54:09 -0600 (CST)
Diane, 39, has been to the doctor to determine the source of sharp pain in her abdomen. She has had some tests done to determine if she has ulcers or something. To the best of our knowledge, the pain occurs after consuming grain products (ie bread, cereal). She is currently persuing a diet which requires one to eat food which is compatible with one's blood type. She is a type O. Her diet book suggests that she avoid wheat, eat lean red meat and do a good deal of cardio. She exercises quite regularly, an hour a day. She won't eat the meat because it has fat on it. She won't eat anything with more than 10g of fat. She has tried alternate types of grain, but to no relief. She never has this problem prior to quitting smoking. She hasn't smoked in almost a year. She keeps talking about starting again, just to get rid of the abdominal pain. She's also depressed that her exercising is not taking care of the little lower bump of a tummy she has. She is a drinker and will not stop. She works in a smokey workplace and will not leave it as well. She'll also listen to complete strangers opinions long before she'll listen to me. Please flood her with answers to her problems.
