Mid-Cycle Spottin

I called my Doctor in regard to mid-cycle spotting and he said that the fibroids I have could be causing this because they press against the lining of the uterus. He has been monitoring these fibroids for at least 2 years now, and they haven't grown at all. Has anyone ever heard of this? He also said they wouldn't do anything about them, unless they grew or caused unusual bleeding or pain.
