another pap question - intercourse/cancer connection?

to those of you who responded to my previous post, many thanks! i appreciate your encouragement. i have one more question....

what is the statistical probability of having cervical cancer without having had intercourse? my doctor told me that she had never heard of a case of a woman having cervical cancer without having had intercourse but i've also been told otherwise. what is the real story?

and here's why it's important... i made an appointment to have the pap smear done but when i got to the doctor's and explained the situation they were outraged and said that under no circumstances did they believe that anyone had the right to force this on someone. my doctor called the screening nurse at the organization, who was apparently singularly unhelpful; but subsequently i spoke to the medical director of the entire program, who was much more reasonable and said that i could appeal the requirement and attempt to have it waived. i have to write letters explaining the situation and it would help immensely if i was able to state that intercourse was a prerequisite to cervical cancer, which is what the pap screens for. (please note that as a lesbian by inclination and a future nun by vocation there's really no chance that i will have sex with a man so a pap would be irrelevant even on the argument of establishing some sort of baseline information) again, thank you to those of you who offered encouragement. i am glad that people out there agree that it's my body and that i should have the right to control it! -ani
