I don't quite understand why this is a problem for many women. We are,
after all, used to having a chaperone in the room during an exam (or we
should be..)and another doctor shouldn't be a problem. I have had
residents examine me when in the hospital, and it was no more stressful
than my own doctor doing anything. The only thing I might insist on is
my doctor going last, in case the resident missed something she/he
should have seen. I know they have to learn, and though my gyn's
practice does not include the training of residents, I don't think I
would be averse to being seen by 2 doctors instead of 1. It's not my
favorite thing to be doing (getting my gyn exam), but it's got to be
done and someone might as well learn from the experience....
