Five bucks says it's granulation tissue, which is a benign but bothersome situation that develops when traumatized tissue (like after surgery) heals a little too well. A red, raised area develops that bleeds easily when irritated, like during intercourse. I have never seen or heard of granulation tissue leading to true hemorrhage. Rather, most ladies complain of spots of bright red blood or a brownish discharge (which is simply old blood). Treatment usually involves applying silver nitrate in the office, or numbing it then cauterizing it with an electrical cautery device, also in the office. Rarely, surgical revision is necessary.

A much less likely cause of your brown staining is a prolapsed peice of fallopian tube. However, this would tend to produce a very watery discharge (like a waterfall)!

It would be imprudent to say whether or not you should wait until returning from overseas to have it treated. Any gyn should be able to treat this, however. Best wishes for a safe return home.
