Re: About the news on HRT and cancer risks....

The data on OC's is more complete and of a long term nature. The data
on HRT, not ERT by the way is very recent and has not stood the test of
time and has not been done veeery many times. Medical research is
looking at a biological system. However there is no one biological
system there are many and many of them resopond in different ways. That
is why we introduce statistics to help us understand them. Many studies
will say things like X is increased 10% by exposur to Y. Well if X only
occurs once in 100 people and it is increassed by ten percent that means
that it will occur 1.1 in 100 who are exposed to it. That is ssuch a
small increasse that one would have to study 20,000 people half exposed
to Y and half not exposed in orderr to determine this 10% increase in
the risk.
We don't know about this yet.
