Depending upon the size of the growth, ikt is called a microadenoma of the pituitary (less than 100mm in size) or a macroadenoma of the pituitary (more than 100mm in size). Micros are usualy treated medically and macros usually surgically due to injury of the optic nerve (vision) when it grows. The medicaiton is clled bromocriptine and is prescribed 2-3 times per day to lower the Prolactin level, which I'm presumiong you have an elevation of since you discussed galactorrhea (breast milk). Also depending upon the results of a complete hormonal workup, Prolactin is the one usually affected and the one treated. Other problems have other therapies.
