cystFrom: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 30 Jan 2000 22:34:27 -0600 (CST)
I wrote on here a few days ago about a pain in my left ovary. I went to the doctor and he told me that a cyst formed when I ovulated and it just decided to stick around for a long time which is why my period is now 2 weeks late. He said I should have expected my period in 4-5 days. My questions are: What could have caused the cyst? Could the cyst have something to do with why I didn't get pregnant? I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 cycles now after having a miscarriage and then waiting 2 cycles (which were normal). These past 3 cycles have been very long cycles. Could it be possible that a cyst forms like this every month? My doctor wants me to start charting my basal body temperature to see if I'm ovulating. Are my long cycles indicative of non-ovulatory cycles? If I am not ovulating, should the doctor do testing to see why I'm not ovulating or will he just give me medicine to make me ovulate? If I am ovulating but still not getting pregnant, what else could be causing my long cycles and my not getting pregnant? Sorry for the lengthy letter, I would really appreciate your thoughts!
