exssecive bleeding and clots doc says its hormonal?????From: krisitna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 30 Jan 2000 12:23:55 -0600 (CST)
Hello i need some real help here. I am 21 years old, a college student, no job, my fiance finacialy suports me. I recently went to the hopsital because i was on my period for 6-7 weeks stright. The last 2-3 wekks of that my period was more heavy and many clotts were passing. I was scared and decided to ge check it out. I had and still do have medical coverage. But after hours of tests the doctor comes back and says its probaly a hormonal imbalance. Perscibed me PROVERA generic for MEDROXYPROGES. After 2 dosages the bleeding stoped. AFter the pills were gone the bleeding was back. THe doc advised me to go to a OBGYN for a checkup but scince there is no medical insurance i cannot afford it. Parents are not helping out, they really dont care. Fiance is great, says well be ok. We are getting medical insurance but not near March applications has to go through first. I need to know if this can be dangerous and if i should go to a specialist now rather then wait for my medical insurance to come ??? please help me im very scared. And alos will ihae to take a perscription for hte rest of my life due to this hormonal imbalance? sorry one more detail i am not on any birth controll, but would it help? thankyou so much for yout time and i hope you can help. from kristina in CA
