I felt as though I may be getting a urinary tract infection and started feeling desperate for relief on a Saturday. I spoke on the phone to a doctor in the obgyn group to which I belong. She prescribed Macrobid twice daily for 7 days. Tomorrow I take the last dose, and I do not feel completely relieved. Since this was not diagnosed in the lab, I fear that the infection could be either more "stubburn" than normal, or worse yet not in the urinary tract, but comming from the kidneys or somewhere the macrobid is not treating. I made a follow-up appointment to actually talk with a Dr. and get some lab results. I am worried because I am 15 weeks into my first pregnancy and could be over-thinking my condition. Do you have any thoughts or ideas on what I can do to get peace of mind? Could a normal UTI take more than a week to clear? Any questions you think I should bring to my Dr?
