The symptoms of an uncomplicated bladder infection are urgency, frequency, and dysuria (frequent, painful, and recurrent urination). If the infection migrates up the ureter to the kidney, or begins in the kidney, you will have much more severe symptoms typically, including fever, generalized yucky feeling, as well as costoverterbral angle tenderness and flank pain. CVA tenderness is pain in the back at the bottom of the rib cage way over on each side. This is where the kidneys are. Typically, the pain is only on one side.
