Lasting Lupron Effects, any statistics?

My very supportive gyn physician understands I am reluctant to undergo hysterectomy for a 2.5cm x 3 cm fibroid. My primary symptoms include excessive bleeding for 4 days of my period causing anemia. His suggestion is to use Lupron Depot 3.75 for 2-3 months to shrink the fibroid, then attempt to eliminate it during operative hysteroscopy via cauterization. My concern is related to the media coverage lately of women who exhibit long term unfavorable side effects to Lupron.

Are there statistics that indicate what percent of women taking Lupron will potentialy suffer long term effects? I understand the potential pseudo menopause effects while the drug is in the system, but what can I realistically expect to deal with long term? Are studies out there?

Thanks to anyone with medical statistics OR any woman who has had Lupron shots and wishes to respond.
