Simply stating "abdominal calcifications" is not enough information... it could cover everything from gallstones and kidney stones, to calcified uterine fibroids and pelvic vessel phleboliths, to a host of other conditions. Hyperparathyroidism is associated with elevated blood calcium and has been though to be associated with kidney stones and other calcificans. Though I am not sure there is a proven cause-effect relationship. I would suggest you ask these questions of your personal physician. If you doctor can not give you satisfactory answers, then perhaps you could ask an endocrinologist.

While we can see calcification with ultrasound, that does not mean we always know the cause, especially since you have to told us were the calcifications are.
